1) is it sedimentary, igneous or metamorphic
2) some of its properties
3) where it occurs

    it is a metamorphic rock.

It has a lot of minerals eg:abundant quartz or feldspar. it is also very hard but on some parts quite smooth.

it occurs all over the world but mostly in mountain ranges like the Rocky Mountains.

it is used for, roads, curbs and sometimes even buildings.

In gneiss, less than 50 percent of the minerals are aligned in thin, foliated layers.

  2. Limestone
    1.Limestone is a sedimentairy rock.
2.Limestone has good hardness, and has few porous areas.
3.Limestone is not found everywhere. It only occurs in areas underlain by sedimentary rocks.
4.Limestone could be the one rock that is used in more ways than any other rock. Most limestone is crushed and used as a construction material.
5.The city of Kingston in Ontario, Canada is called the "Limestone City" because so many buildings were built with limestone.

  4. Limestone is a sedimentary rock. Most of them are found in shallow water areas. Limestone is forming in the Caribbean Sea, Indian Ocean, Persian Gulf, Gulf of Mexico, around Pacific Ocean islands and within the Indonesian archipelago. Most limestone is crushed and used as a construction material. It is used as a crushed stone for road base and railroad ballast. It is used as an aggregate in concrete. It is fired in a kiln with crushed shale to make cement. Limestone has many other uses. Powdered limestone is used as a filler in paper, paint, rubber and plastics. The properties are strong and dense with few pore spaces. These properties enable them to stand up well to abrasion and freeze-thaw.underlain by sedimentary rocks. Limestone is needed in other areas and is so important that buyers will pay five times the value of the stone in delivery charges so that limestone can be used in their project or process.
